Mitsubishi PLC FX5-232-BD

The FX5-232-BD is an original Mitsubishi RS-232C serial communication expansion board exclusively designed for MELSEC iQ-F FX5U/FX5UC PLC CPUs. It directly plugs into the dedicated BD expansion slot on the front of FX5 series CPUs without external power supply, drawing 5V DC power internally from the PLC main unit with only 20mA power consumption, featuring ultra-small size and lightweight structure for space-saving cabinet layout.

Equipped with one standard 9-pin male D-SUB RS-232C port, this board supports both full-duplex and half-duplex asynchronous serial transmission, covering baud rates ranging from 300bps up to 115200bps to match diverse serial devices. It supports multiple mainstream communication protocols including MELSEC dedicated protocol, Modbus RTU and free non-protocol communication, enabling stable bidirectional data exchange with industrial PCs, touch HMIs, barcode scanners, digital weighing meters and serial printers within a maximum transmission distance of 15 meters.
